Graham County Traffic Court Records
Where does a citation go from there? Several paths exist. A Kansas sheriff or Highway Patrol ticket may be filed in Graham County District Court. A Hill City ordinance citation can stay in Hill City Municipal Court instead. A ticket naming Bogue or Morland follows the city process printed on the ticket. Some matters may also show up in the Kansas Courts Central Payment Center. Eligible traffic, criminal, and fish-and-game cases qualify. A federal citation belongs in federal court, not the Kansas state portal.
Venue decides who keeps the record. The Clerk of the District Court holds the Graham County District Court file. A municipal court or city custodian holds the city ordinance file. The Kansas Public Access Portal can display public District Court Case Events. Still, it is no substitute for a city docket. So begin with the exact court name, not where the driver happens to live.
Graham County Traffic Ticket Deadlines
Check the bottom of your ticket. The due or appearance date printed there controls your next step. Official Kansas court guidance says to call the named court before that date. Do so whenever a fine or instruction is unclear. Do not sit back and wait for an online result. A new citation may not be loaded yet. A missing payment-center match never cancels the obligation.
Quick route: Read the court, date, phone, and payment directions on the citation, then contact that court before the printed deadline.
Need to reach the court directly? The official judiciary directory lists Graham County District Court at 410 N. Pomeroy Avenue, Suite 9, Hill City, KS 67642. Its phone is (785) 421-3458. Hill City Municipal Court runs a separate line at 785-421-3638. For Bogue or Morland tickets, the citation itself is the key contact record.
Look Up Graham County Tickets
Use the citation number when you can. The Kansas Courts Central Payment Center searches payable matters. For public District Court case information, try the Kansas Public Access Portal. Neither one promises a complete municipal court file.
- Read the ticket and identify the issuing court, citation number, and response date.
- For an eligible payable matter, search the payment center with the citation or case number and date of birth.
- For District Court, accept the portal agreement, select District and Citation Number, then filter to Graham County.
- Without the ticket, use an enabled name search or call the court named on the citation.
- If no result appears, call or visit the court counter and ask for the date, status, and public disposition.
- Request a certified copy from the correct clerk when formal proof is needed.
District Court records have another route. Try the public terminal at the courthouse. A focused Kansas Open Records Act request can also seek a public event or disposition. If you mail one, name the court, the identifier, the date, and the exact record. The full Graham County Case Search explains how the state portal's filters work.
Graham County Traffic Payment Search
Think of the Central Payment Center as a payment interface, not a full docket. Its fields exist to help you pick the least ambiguous lookup. Use only what your chosen method needs.
| Enabled search | Required fields | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Citation or case number | Identifier and date of birth | Ticket in hand |
| Driver license | License number and state | Possible payment lookup |
| Name | First, last, and date of birth | Identifier unknown |
Not every search card is open. Social Security, vehicle, and business searches are disabled on the payment-center page. For payment-center questions, the page lists 785-260-6105 and weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. That statewide line still cannot replace the issuing court. The official interface is the payment-center source.
Because paying and contesting are separate choices, a citation number plus the correct date of birth usually gives the clearest match.
Finding Graham Traffic Court Dates
The appearance date on the citation comes first. For District Court, public Case Events or the courthouse terminal may show a later setting. A city citation calls for the city notice, its calendar, or a court contact. Two cautions apply. A filed date is not a hearing date. And a payment result does not prove an appearance was excused.
| Identifier | Use the citation or a District Court style such as GH-2026-TR-000001, only a format example. |
|---|---|
| Court | Confirm District Court or the named municipal court. |
| Date and Time | Check the ticket, later order, and current Case Event. |
| Place | Verify address, room, and remote terms with the court. |
| Status | Ask whether a reset, payment, or plea changed the need to appear. |
Graham County posts no recurring daily calendar. A signed notice or order beats any old web entry. The statewide Find a Hearing service works as an official fallback, but have the court confirm a current setting before you travel.
Graham County Traffic Court Snapshot
How much traffic work does Graham County handle? The Kansas Judicial Branch report covers the year ending June 30, 2025. It lists 145 Graham traffic filings. That row breaks down into 118 infractions, 144 motor-vehicle violations, one other violation, and no parking violations. The columns overlap by design, so do not sum them.
Keep these numbers in perspective. They are workload totals that identify no person and prove no outcome. The 2025 disposition report counts 155 total dispositions: 139 guilty pleas, nine dismissals, three deferred adjudication or diversion outcomes, two court trials, and two other results. Some of those cases began before the reporting year.
Paying or Contesting Graham Tickets
Paying and contesting are two different paths. Before you pay, confirm the court and the violation the search returned. Review the total and the final-screen charge. Then save your receipt. Wanting a hearing, a plea, or diversion instead? Contact the named court first, before any action that might resolve the ticket.
| Paying | Contesting or diversion |
|---|---|
| Follow the ticket or eligible payment route. | Contact the court before the due date. |
| Review the amount and final screen. | Ask how to enter a plea or obtain a hearing. |
| Keep the receipt and verify status if needed. | Ask about eligibility and appearance rules. |
Hill City has its own diversion document, effective September 14, 2021. Under it, an application must reach the city attorney before court. Only the city attorney can excuse an appearance. The six-month completion wording is historical guidance, not a promise of current terms. It does not govern District Court, Bogue, or Morland.
Missed deadline: Kansas guidance warns that failure to act may lead to license suspension under K.S.A. 8-2110 and a stated $122 reinstatement fee.
Graham County Municipal Traffic Dockets
Kansas law gives municipal courts jurisdiction over city ordinance violations and certain ordinance equivalents. The municipal jurisdiction statute spells out that line.
Graham County's smaller cities handle traffic tickets at the municipal level. The statute itself posts no calendar, fee schedule, or outcome. Hill City does maintain an official court page for its municipal cases. Bogue and Morland offer no online municipal docket. Each city can still keep a paper docket at city hall. So a missing web result is never proof that no case exists.
Graham Court Record vs Driver Record
Two different offices answer two different questions. A Graham County court record shows the citation and what the court did about it. The Kansas Department of Revenue, or the licensing state if elsewhere, tracks license status and any agency action against your driving privileges. One record can update before the other does.
| Court record | Driver record | |
|---|---|---|
| Custodian | District clerk or city custodian | Revenue agency or issuing state |
| Shows | Charge, plea, date, disposition, judgment | License status, suspension, reinstatement |
| Route | CaseSearch, terminal, city court, KORA | Licensing agency request |
| Best proof | Clerk-certified order | Official agency record |
A payment entry in the docket is not a certified disposition, and it proves nothing about your current license status. Ask the right office for the exact record you need.
Graham Traffic Fees and Copies
Graham County posts no current copy, certification, or payment convenience fee of its own. Check the final payment screen. Then submit. For copies, contact the issuing court and request an estimate. The figures below come from another official Kansas district court and serve only as references.
| Item | Published reference | Graham instruction |
|---|---|---|
| Plain copy | $0.25 per page | Verify with the clerk |
| Certified document | $10 plus copies | Ask for current cost |
| Payment charge | Not posted on landing page | Review final screen |
A broad written request can trigger a staff and reproduction estimate. Say what you need. That may be a public docket. It may be a final judgment, a payment record, or a certified copy. That focus prevents delay and misrouting.
Mail and counter requests should label the case as District Court or municipal. Include the citation date, the court date, and a narrow date range when known. Do you need certification? Ask the clerk to quote copy and certification charges before work starts. Graham County posts no separate counter hours or local traffic-copy schedule. So confirm access before you travel.
