The Graham County Court Calendar
Graham County District Court sits in the six-county 17th Judicial District. Its public settings usually surface as hearing entries or Case Events. They rarely sit on a local daily docket page. For a statewide view, turn to the Kansas Judicial Branch Find a Hearing calendar. The Public Access Portal may also list a public event tied to a case.
The county publishes no recurring room-by-room schedule. That gap matters. An old search result, a county closure notice, or a city calendar is not proof of a current District Court setting. For a named event, a signed notice, journal entry, or order carries the most weight. The clerk or court coordinator is the final check.
Graham County Has No Daily Calendar
A missing calendar page is not a closure. It does not mean Graham County hearings are closed to the public, or that court is not in session. The public route simply runs through state tools, case-specific notices, the courthouse terminal, and clerk confirmation. Start with the state hearing tool. Then check the case event list if the matter is public.
Need more detail? Call Graham County District Court at (785) 421-3458. You can also use the public terminal at the Graham County Courthouse, 410 N. Pomeroy Avenue, Suite 9, Hill City, Kansas 67642. Counter hours are not posted separately, so confirm access before you travel.
Best evidence: A signed Notice of Hearing or court order is stronger than a general calendar listing for the event it names.
Find a Graham County Court Date
When a setting is close, or a prior date has moved, check more than one channel. The portal and hearing calendar are good discovery tools. Even so, a party should compare them against the current filed notice and anything received from counsel.
- Open the statewide Find a Hearing page and use its official controls.
- Search CaseSearch under District, choose Graham County, and inspect public Case Events.
- Check the signed notice, journal entry, or order for the date, time, room, and appearance method.
- Use the courthouse public terminal if the web result is absent or incomplete.
- Call the Clerk of the District Court or court coordinator to confirm the setting.
- If represented, compare the result with counsel's notice and ask about later orders.
A printed courtroom docket call may exist at the courthouse. For the full portal process, see the Graham County case search page.
Graham County Court Calendar Notices
The official Kansas Judicial Council Notice of Hearing form makes a point. A date alone is not enough. Its fields cover time, in-person address, division, room, video attendance, and court contact details. A mixed setting, partly in person and partly by video, may require an extra step.
The form tells a remote participant to contact the court or the judge's assistant. The deadline is 5 p.m. on the prior day. That instruction belongs to the form itself. It does not guarantee video access. Not every Graham County hearing offers it. Read the filed notice, then confirm any missing link or call-in detail.
| Date | The scheduled day, subject to a later order or continuance. |
|---|---|
| Time | The start time, which may differ from a broad docket call. |
| Courtroom | The room, division, or address for an in-person appearance. |
| Judge | The assigned or presiding judicial officer. |
| Setting Type | The purpose, such as arraignment, motion, pretrial, trial, or sentencing. |
Reading a Graham Court Setting
A calendar line is a scheduling record, not a ruling. "Motion hearing" names the purpose. It tells you nothing about how the judge will decide. "Pretrial" is a case-management event, not a trial. A reset gives a new date or time. It does not explain why the change happened.
Case Events can show an event name and date. They may leave out the room, the remote link, or the document that created the setting. Restricted matters may stay off the list under Kansas Supreme Court Rule 22. Match any event to the full case number. Then match it to the court and the current notice.
- Docket call
- An administrative review of cases on a court calendar.
- Continuance
- A postponement or rescheduling approved by the court.
- Disposition hearing
- A setting that may resolve a charge, claim, or case stage.
- Show-cause hearing
- A hearing at which a party addresses alleged noncompliance.
Graham County Court Calendar Reminders
Kansas runs an official hearing-reminder service. It works well as a second layer for anyone tracking an upcoming event. It does not replace the filed notice, the current event entry, or a direct instruction from the court. The official service shows the enrollment view.
Use the reminder screen alongside the current court order. A delayed notification cannot change the legal setting.
Graham Calendar Resets and Continuances
The 17th Judicial District local rules put scheduling work on the parties. The presiding judge carries part of it too. Rule 1101A calls for hearing dates to be coordinated before notice goes out. Rule 1101B puts witness notice on one party. The party seeking a continuance must tell the witnesses. Rule 1101C leaves continuances to the judge's discretion and requires coordination of the new date.
Never assume an old entry vanished because the case ended. Later Case Events may hold a new notice, order, or reset. If a county office closure is announced, treat it as a cue to check. It is not an automatic cancellation of every judicial event. The Graham County notices archive may list closures that affect counter access.
Note: Confirm a moved Graham County setting with the court. Notify affected witnesses under the applicable local rule.
Graham County Hill City Calendar
Hill City runs two separate court calendars. Municipal Court takes the city-ordinance cases; the state trial docket sits with Graham County District Court. Keep the two apart when you read a docket. Entries on the municipal calendar do not set a District Court hearing. That holds even when the listings change. For the municipal view, the Hill City website and city calendar are the official source.
This calendar works for a Hill City citation. A state case is different, though. Go back to CaseSearch and the Graham District Court docket for that. Bogue and Morland post no official online municipal calendar, so rely on the court and date printed on the citation itself.
Graham County Court Calendar Video
Video attendance is never automatic. A video option must come from the Notice of Hearing for your case. It can also come from later court instruction. The standard form has remote-setting and contact fields, but those fields do not promise remote access in every matter. A portal event may show nothing beyond a date and setting type.
Suppose the notice allows video yet gives no working link. Contact the court or the judge's assistant within the timing stated on the form. Keep your full case number close. An old link from a prior setting will not work, so do not use one. And permission granted to one party may not cover every participant.
Missed Graham County Court Setting
Missed a setting? Act fast. Pull up the latest Case Events first, then call the clerk of court and any attorney on the case. Ask what order or next hearing is public record. Also ask what the court needs from you next. The clerk of the Graham County court can explain process but cannot give legal advice.
Missed a setting? A failure to appear can cause serious court action, depending on the case and the judge's order.
Contact the Clerk of the District Court or counsel at once and verify the current Graham County calendar entry.
A licensed Kansas attorney can advise what response is required in the specific matter.
Never guess a time and just show up. Courthouse security and recording rules still apply, and a changed setting may move to a different room or an approved remote method.
